NUSS MEETS NYS LEADERSHIP TO FOSTER STUDENTS WELFARE

In a bid to set apart a fashionable students welfare across the country, the President of the National Union of Sierra Leone Students (NUSS), Mohamed Rex Bonapha has on Thursday 11th January,2023 met with the leadership of National Youth Service to ensure a productive entry into NYS training.

President Bonapha said the meeting seeks to provide a fair level ground where students would have equal opportunity to participate in NYS training especially students with disability.

He emphasized that in order to maintain a vibrant system, sensitization of students remain the core aspect to enhance better participation.

He maintained that one of the benefits of applying for the National Youth Service cohorts was to attain a well-paid job that would be sustainable to their livelihood. “30% of NYS graduates every year are provided with an internship opportunity at different Ministries, Departments and Agencies,” President Bonapha mentioned.

The meeting in which a constructive dialogue was made ended with a call for the leadership of NYS to consider graduates from every university, colleges and polytechnics in the country to have access to such opportunity. Therefore, the leadership of NYS and NUSS have agreed to have a campus tour for the 7th batch to properly inform students about the opportunities, operations, its application and how beneficial it’s to students.
